COVID-19 Vaccine
We have received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Please refer back to this page for updates.
We are administering the vaccine according to the CDC and the Georgia Department of Public Health recommendations. We are currently in Phase 1a which allocates initial supplies for healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents. As of January 11, Phase 1a will be extended to include patients over the age of 65 and all law enforcement and fire personnel. Patient’s that have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days are excluded from this phase. Current evidence suggests that reinfection with the virus is uncommon in the 90 days after initial infection.
• Frontline essential workers such as food and agricultural workers, United States Postal Service workers, manufacturing workers, grocery store workers, public transit workers, and those who work in the educational sector (teachers, support staff, and daycare workers.)
Phase 1c will follow which includes:
• People aged 18—64 years with underlying medical conditions – which increase the risk of serious, life-threatening complications from COVID-19.
• Other essential workers such as people who work in transportation and logistics, food service, housing construction and finance, information technology, communications, energy, law, media, public safety, and public health.
o Due to the pandemic and the newly released vaccine, our call volume has increased and therefore, the holding time has increased as well. We would like to thank our patients in advance for their patience and understanding during this time.
(4) The nurse will administer the vaccine while you remain in your vehicle. You are required to stay for a 15 minute observation period.
