Project Description

RnWatkiss1 AMY WATKISS, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She began her nursing career in 1999 after earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Mercer University. As a RN, she worked at Northside Hospital in labor and delivery. Following that, she began working for a cosmetic surgeon and gained experience in Botox and dermal filler injections. Wanting to expand her knowledge and focus on the holistic care of families, Amy pursued a Master’s in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. Amy graduated with honors in 2008, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the national honor’s society of nursing. Immediately after graduation, Amy began her FNP career with Peachtree City Physicians Group.

Amy is also employed as clinical faculty for the University of South Alabama in the family nurse practitioner program. As a nurse practitioner her interests include focusing on health promotion and wellness and chronic disease prevention. A Georgia native, Amy has been a Fayette County resident most of her life and graduated from Sandy Creek High School here in Tyrone (Go Patriots!). She is married to Geoff and they have two teenage sons who keep them busy with sports. In her free time she and her husband have an active lifestyle, together they enjoy running road races. Along with running, Amy participates in triathlons.

“My goal as a nurse practitioner is to collaborate with each client to provide evidence based care that incorporates  their individual personal and health related goals.”
