DrGorman1RICHARD GORMAN, MD was first board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in 1981 and has remained certified since.  He has been in practice since 1981.  He has lived in the Peachtree City area since 1988.  He has special interests in aviation and sports medicine as well as the full spectrum of Family Medicine.  He has been a senior Aviation Medical Examiner for 26 years working extensively with commercial and private pilots and air traffic controllers.

Dr. Gorman was raised in Missoula, Montana and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Montana.  He graduated medical school from the University of Washington-Seattle in 1978 and finished his Family Medicine residency at the University of Colorado-Denver in 1981.

After residency, Dr. Gorman joined a group in Aurora, Colorado where he practiced from 1981-1988.  Looking to expand his horizons, he packed up the family and moved to Peachtree City where he started a new practice.  Initially, he practicing solo but later acquired an associate.  In 1995 Dr. Gorman merged with the Piedmont Physicians organization where he worked with Dr. Gerard.  In 2001 the two left that group and started Peachtree City Physicians Group where they have practiced together since.  The group remains affiliated with Piedmont Health Care System.

Dr. Gorman is married, has 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren, most of who live in the Peachtree City area.  Much of his spare-time activities revolve around his family.  He also is an amateur woodworker and all around “fix-it guy”.
